Does the ACT score affect me the chance to get scholarship for college?
Written by admin on April 23rd, 2009
My ACT was 27 and that was probably good enough for me to get into the college I want. However, I was wondering if I should retake it and get 30 or above so that I can increase my chance of getting scholarship. (College is expensive for me)
This will depend entirely upon the scholarships you are applying for. I took the ACT four times to get a certain score because it guaranteed me $2000 from the state for 5 years just for keeping up a ludicrously low GPA. A lower score would have guaranteed me a full-tuition scholarship at one school, but a partial scholarship at another. The higher score, combined with my GPA and class rank, guaranteed me a chance to interview for a full ride. A 27 is still rather good, but if you think you can do better, try again.
